Private bus operators have requested the Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayaka to impose a ban on politicians pasting election related posters on private buses which goes against existing election laws.
President of the Private bus operators association Gemunu Wijeratna, speaking to Daily Mirror online, said that the Elections Chief had assured that legal action will be taken against any private bus owner who displays election propaganda on a passenger bus after February 26, the day the accepting of nominations ends.
